Dear Reader,

I am writing to you today to invite your support for Demo100, a national campaign dedicated to commemorating one of the most significant milestones in British history: the centenary of equal voting rights in the United Kingdom.

In 2028, we mark 100 years since the Representation of the People (Equal Franchise) Act 1928 finally granted women the same voting rights as men, lowering the age to 21. This was a hard-won victory that laid the foundation for our modern democracy, followed later by the 1969 milestone which lowered the voting age to 18.

The Challenge Ahead While we celebrate how far we have come, we cannot allow our democratic momentum to stall. Today, millions of eligible citizens remain disengaged from the system. Many do not vote—often due to systemic barriers or a feeling that the process no longer serves them. Demo100 addresses these issues head-on, working to bridge the gap between the public and the halls of power.

Our Strategic Goals We are seeking to build a broad coalition of MPs, union leaders, and grassroots campaigners to achieve the following:

• A Parliamentary Press Launch: Hosting a high-profile event at the Houses of Parliament to kickstart the national conversation.

• Government & Educational Engagement: Ensuring the significance of 1928 is integrated into our national curriculum and recognized by the state.

• Improved Voter Literacy: Providing tools to help citizens make more informed, confident decisions at the ballot box.

• Active Participation: Moving beyond the "tick box" and encouraging people to actively shape the democratic system.

Our Roadmap to 2028 To reach every corner of the UK, Demo100 will utilize a multi-channel approach:

• Direct Advocacy: A robust postal and lobbying campaign targeting decision-makers and community leaders.

• Legacy Media: Extensive coverage through national newspapers, magazines, and documentaries.
